0.01% retinal
This formula contains 0.01% retinal, a member of the vitamin A family. Use in the evening and introduce gradually.

INSIDE THE FORMULA
Diamond Retinal uses retinal held within a liposomal encapsulation system. 0.01% retinal is part of a wider formula containing niacinamide, squalane, peptides and ceramide NP. Glycerin and sodium hyaluronate bring moisture-binding ingredients into the emulsion, while Bifida ferment lysate and Centella asiatica add further detail. Introduce it as an evening serum, followed by moisturiser. The concentration and your tolerance guide the pace.
This formula contains 0.01% retinal, a member of the vitamin A family. Use in the evening and introduce gradually.
Vitamin B3 accompanies retinal within this formula, alongside squalane and moisture-binding ingredients.
Palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 are joined by ceramide NP, a skin-barrier lipid ingredient.
Diamond Retinal uses liposomal encapsulation: the retinal is held within tiny lipid-based carriers as part of the formula. Encapsulation describes how an ingredient is formulated; it does not change the stated retinal percentage. Introduce the product gradually and follow its directions, even if you have used another retinoid before.
USING THIS FORMULA
01 / Before
Cleanse gently, then follow the preparation instructions for your formula.
02 / Your formula
Use in the evening after cleansing. Apply a small amount to the face and neck, allow to absorb, then follow with moisturiser. Introduce twice weekly for the first two weeks. If well tolerated, increase to alternate evenings for the following two weeks, then adjust frequency to your skin’s tolerance. Use sunscreen during the day. Follow the directions on your pack.
03 / After
Let your serum absorb before your moisturiser. In the morning, finish with sunscreen.
Introduce one new product at a time and follow the directions on your pack.
Five concentrations of encapsulated retinal. Choose with your previous retinal experience and skin tolerance in mind.
| Formula | Retinal | Who is it for? |

| Diamond Retinal 3 | 0.03% | For those comfortable with the lowest level and considering their next step. |
| Diamond Retinal 5 | 0.05% | For experienced retinal users whose skin tolerates this concentration. |

| Diamond Retinal 25Not yet available in this store | 0.25% | For advanced users with experience of Diamond Retinal 10. Introduce this higher concentration gradually. |
You do not need to work through every strength. Higher is not automatically better. Introduce gradually, follow your chosen formula’s directions and use sunscreen during the day.
Diamond Retinal 1 contains 0.01% retinal, the lowest concentration in our Diamond range. It is a place to consider when you are new to retinal and want to introduce it slowly. A lower percentage does not guarantee irritation-free use; let your skin’s response guide the pace.
Begin on two evenings a week for the first two weeks. If comfortable, try alternate evenings for the next two weeks, then adjust to your skin’s tolerance. Apply after cleansing and follow with moisturiser. Nightly use is not a target you must reach; follow your pack and pause if irritation develops.
Keep C E Ferulic in the morning and retinal in the evening. Use a separate concentrated niacinamide serum on evenings without retinal while introducing it. Avoid layering AHA or BHA exfoliants with Diamond Retinal, and use only one retinoid product in the routine.
Follow Diamond Retinal with a moisturiser such as CeraPep Barrier Support Moisturiser. A hydrating serum can also fit into the routine, but it is optional. Keep the first few weeks simple and avoid introducing several new products together. Moisturiser supports comfort; it does not make an irritating retinal routine suitable.
A new breakout is not automatically purging. Burning, an itchy rash or persistent redness are reasons to stop using the product and seek advice, not signs that you should push through. If breakouts worsen or continue, a dermatologist can help distinguish acne from a reaction. Do not increase the dose to speed things up.
Do not use Diamond Retinal during pregnancy or while trying to conceive. Cyrène also advises against use during breastfeeding. If you have already used it, stop and discuss your routine with your obstetrician or midwife for individual advice.
Keep Diamond Retinal away from the eyes, eyelids, lips and mucous membranes. It is a face-and-neck formula, not an eye treatment. Do not bring it closer to the lash line in an attempt to target crow’s feet; follow the application areas on your pack.
Retinal has a naturally yellow colour, so a yellow formula is expected. This is different from a noticeable change after opening. If the colour, smell or texture changes significantly, pause use and contact us with the batch code and a photo. Keep it away from direct sunlight and follow the storage label.
